About The Position

The Technical Policy Specialist will be responsible for interpreting and maintaining complex technical policies related to cybersecurity, compliance, and IT operations. This role involves authoring policies in Markdown, converting them to HTML, and managing workflows using GitHub. The specialist will collaborate with security engineering and compliance teams to ensure policies are aligned with regulatory frameworks and operational requirements, and support training and communication efforts related to policy updates.

Requirements

  • Proven experience in technical policy writing (cybersecurity or IT compliance preferred)
  • Strong proficiency in Markdown (MD) and converting MD to HTML
  • Hands-on experience with GitHub (version control, collaboration, deployment workflows)
  • Understanding of machine-readable policy formats and automation principles
  • Knowledge of cybersecurity frameworks and standards (e.g., ISO 27001, NIST)
  • Excellent written communication skills
  • Strong ability to bridge compliance requirements and technical implementation
  • Detail-oriented mindset with strong documentation and communication skills
  • Ability to work cross-functionally with technical and non-technical stakeholders
  • Proactive approach to improving processes and driving automation

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with scripting/automation tools (e.g., PowerShell, Python)
  • Knowledge of SOAR (Security Orchestration, Automation, and Response) platforms
  • Familiarity with cloud security policies and controls
  • Experience working in Agile / DevOps environments

Responsibilities

  • Interpret and understand complex technical policies related to cybersecurity, compliance, and IT operations

  • Align policy content with regulatory frameworks and operational requirements in collaboration with compliance and audit teams
  • Continuously improve policy documentation processes for clarity, accuracy, and usability
  • Support training and communication related to policy updates
