About The Position

The Technical Platform Lead will be responsible for the development, governance, enhancement, and ongoing support of Merz Aesthetics' global web platforms. This role ensures the stability, security, and scalability of enterprise digital properties across regions, while coordinating with internal stakeholders and external vendors to deliver compliant, high-performing web experiences. This individual will collaborate with cross-functional teams—including Marketing, Digital, and Product—to translate business requirements into secure, scalable solutions while overseeing infrastructure, integrations, and vendor execution across the global digital ecosystem.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree In Information Systems, Computer Science, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
  • 5+ years Web Development Experience
  • Strong proficiency in HTML, CSS, JavaScript
  • Experience with PHP (composer-based infrastructure)
  • Experience with CMS platforms (e.g., WordPress or similar)
  • Familiarity with version control tools (e.g., Git)
  • Working knowledge of AWS infrastructure concepts (EC2, networking, access control)
  • Experience managing vendors or agency partners in a delivery model
  • Strong troubleshooting skills across application, infrastructure, and integrations
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to balance technical detail with stakeholder communication

Responsibilities

  • Lead the health, performance, and governance of Merz’s global web platforms across regions
  • Develop, test, and deploy website features and enhancements across Merz web properties
  • Maintain and improve existing codebases for performance, scalability, and maintainability
  • Implement responsive, user-friendly interfaces across desktop and mobile
  • Lead transitions from external vendors to internally controlled infrastructure and accounts
  • Function as the primary technical point of contact for external vendors (Merakode, Fingerpaint, F2F, etc.)
  • Define scope boundaries, enforce accountability, and ensure deliverables meet Merz standards
  • Review Statements of Work (SOWs), technical approaches, and implementation plans
  • Coordinate cross-vendor efforts for releases, migrations, and remediation work
  • Serve as escalation point for infrastructure issues across AWS environments (EC2, security groups, access controls)
  • Partner with IT/security teams and vendors to remediate vulnerabilities, including pen test findings
  • Identify and escalate risks related to public exposure, authentication, or misconfigured services
  • Ensure compliance with privacy regulations and internal policies (e.g., cookie consent, third-party data transfers)
  • Review and approve integrations involving customer data
  • Partner with legal/compliance teams to validate tracking, consent, and data handling approaches
  • Support and troubleshoot integrations with Salesforce Marketing Cloud
  • Assist with campaign tracking, data flows, and reporting validation
  • Validate implementation of user interaction tracking tools
  • Troubleshoot and resolve website issues, defects, and performance bottlenecks
  • Perform ongoing updates to content components, UI elements, and integrations
  • Optimize page speed, SEO structure, and accessibility compliance
  • Partner with Marketing and Product teams to implement updates and campaigns
  • Translate business requirements into technical specifications and solutions
  • Leverage integrations with Marketing Cloud, CRM, and third-party tools
  • Ensure secure coding practices and adherence to company standards
  • Conduct testing (functional, regression, and performance) prior to releases
  • Maintain compliance with privacy, accessibility, and regulatory requirements
  • Maintain technical documentation for code, configurations, and workflows
  • Identify opportunities for automation, reuse, and process optimization
