About The Position

IPX Power, LLC is a clean energy company that develops, owns, and operates large-scale energy resources. The company is seeking Technical Operations Leads to provide leadership and direction to its Technical Operations team and lead complex renewable-energy engineering projects, coordinating across engineering, operations, and asset management teams. The role develops and implements strategies to monitor, analyze, and optimize utility-scale solar and battery energy storage systems using data analytics and automation. The position leads PV energy-yield assessment, production simulation, and loss modeling with PVsyst and PlantPredict to support performance benchmarking, underperformance investigations, and repowering business cases. It establishes KPIs and develops monitoring and reporting systems using Python-based time-series analysis, performance benchmarking, and automated evaluation of operational data. The role oversees SCADA, DAS, and monitoring-system integration, including point mapping, site onboarding, alarm and event validation, data quality assurance, and operational acceptance testing. The Technical Operations Lead diagnoses and resolves performance losses in utility-scale solar assets; directs repowering and retrofit initiatives; and oversees PV module testing, characterization, and failure analysis. It provides technical oversight of plant operations, maintenance, and troubleshooting, including DC collection systems, medium-voltage AC systems, communications networks, and monitoring infrastructure. The role also leads grid and market operations coordination with ISOs such as CAISO and ERCOT, including telemetry, compliance, and outage coordination. The position manages relationships with OEMs, EPCs, and third-party O&M providers to address warranty and systemic issues; drives deployment of automation technologies such as robotics and drones; mentors team members; ensures compliance with industry standards and ISO market rules; and reports performance trends and strategic priorities to senior management. Travel within the United States is approximately 20% for team meetings and site visits. Telecommuting may be available.
