About The Position

At Anchor, we’re transforming B2B payments with our automated billing and collections platform so accounting and professional-services firms can focus on what they do best. As a Technical Onboarding Consultant, you will play a critical role in partnership with Customer Success Managers in ensuring customers adopt Anchor smoothly and confidently. This role blends technical onboarding, data migration, customer guidance, and cross-functional collaboration with ownership of custom special projects that drive efficiency, scale, and operational excellence across the onboarding lifecycle. You will partner closely with Customer Success Managers, Support, Sales, Product teams, and customers to create seamless migration experiences, troubleshoot complex scenarios, and improve onboarding processes. With heart, grit, and ownership, you’ll help create exponential value for our customers and support Anchor’s continued growth. This position is hybrid-based in Austin, TX, with a mix of office and remote work (4 days from the office, 1 day from home), with part of the team distributed globally. The ideal candidate thrives in a hybrid environment, fostering collaboration and engagement across both in-office and remote teammates.

Requirements

  • Advanced Microsoft Excel experience - MUST.
  • Bachelor’s degree and 2-3 years of professional experience in Accounting, Finance, Technical, or a related field.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot complex data challenges.
  • High attention to detail and accuracy in data handling and documentation.
  • Independent, fast learner with a detail-oriented and can-do attitude.

  • Experience with fintech, accounting tools, billing systems, or payments platforms.
  • Experience using or building AI tools (GPTs, workflows, automation).
  • Experience in onboarding, implementation, or technical consulting roles.

Responsibilities

  • Manage all aspects of data translation, modeling, cleansing, and migration to ensure accurate and smooth customer onboardings and migrations.
  • Troubleshoot data and product issues during onboarding and adoption, partnering with CSMs to resolve blockers quickly.
  • Join select customer meetings to provide technical and data-driven insights.
  • Translate complex technical concepts into clear, actionable guidance for customers.
  • Act as a liaison across CSMs, Sales, Support, Product, and R&D to ensure alignment on onboarding needs, challenges, and feedback.
  • Identify friction points in onboarding and collaborate with cross-functional teams to improve workflows, tooling, and automation.
  • Provide technical input that informs product enhancements related to setup, data, and automation.
  • Build, maintain, and deliver training on onboarding playbooks, checklists, templates, and best practices.
  • Document new workflows, create internal tutorials, and support rollout of new onboarding processes and product features.
  • Maintain strong hygiene across internal systems, including HubSpot and onboarding trackers.
  • Own and execute special projects that improve onboarding and adoption operations, customer experience, scalability, and automation.
  • Drive process optimization related to templates, tooling, workflow redesigns, and quality controls.
  • Lead pilots and experiments that reduce onboarding time and improve throughput and outcomes.
  • Collaborate with Product, R&D, and AI teams on automation and operational improvements throughout the onboarding lifecycle.
  • Scope, prioritize, and deliver project outcomes with clear communication and timelines.
  • Stay current on industry trends (accounting, bookkeeping, fractional CFO, professional services) to strengthen customer guidance.
  • Apply domain expertise to help firms optimize billing models and adopt Anchor effectively.
