About The Position

The Global Corporate Functions (GCF) – Collections Technology team develops and manages innovative products designed to support the ever-changing Collections landscape and Collections systems across multiple platforms globally. We work in close partnership with our key Technology Partners throughout Scotiabank to drive technology on a global basis. We are key team members within GCF to ensure business strategies, plans and initiatives are executed / delivered in compliance with governing regulations, internal policies and procedures. This position will deliver against new Collections initiatives that are widely used and integrated with the different line of businesses across Scotiabank. The portfolio spans across systems. The incumbent will manage, investigate, troubleshoot and coordinate with stakeholders and vendors for Collections projects, application and system issues in warranty period. This role will require the successful applicant to manage a workload of support new projects and initiatives, upgrades and requests on a timely basis. The individual must thrive on challenges, be proactive and dynamic, and demonstrate initiative and eagerness to learn.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in technical fields such as computer science, computer engineering or related field required.
  • Minimum 8 years of experience in application development.
  • The role requires delivery and support, including incident management, of an existing application with strong knowledge of ITIL processes (Incident, Request and Change Management)
  • Basic knowledge of Cloud technologies like GCP and Azure.
  • Knowledge of Change and release management like CI/CD framework, Code deployment, version control systems (Azure/DevOps, Bitbucket).
  • Must have 3 years of experience in collaboration and ticketing system tools (Confluence, Service Now, Jira), and monitoring tools (Dynatrace, Splunk).
  • Understanding of Agile, Waterfall and Hybrid frameworks/techniques.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills, have vision and innovative approach in resolving issues, incidents, and the ability to convey them to our internal and external stakeholders.
  • You must be flexible to adapt to a dynamic environment, make quick and sound decisions under pressure.
  • Must be reliable, pro-active, results-oriented, customer-focused, and attentive to details.
  • You have working experience with DevOps pipelines and tools, and strong knowledge of SDLC (define, design, build, test and deploy) practices.
  • You have experience with program delivery including planning, estimation and execution.
  • Technical understanding of enterprise systems and distributed architectures, database design, application/operational process flows, and data security in collections?

Nice To Haves

  • Spanish language skill is an asset.

Responsibilities

  • Provide technical oversight and guidance across Collections initiatives.
  • Collaborate with architects, developers, and product owners to ensure solutions meet enterprise standards.
  • Participate in project ceremonies, advising on technical feasibility and risk mitigation.
  • Identify and resolve technical dependencies across teams and projects.
  • Mentor and coach teams on best practices, security standards, and performance optimization.
  • Support incident/problem resolution for critical technical issues during warranty.
  • Drive continuous improvement in processes and technical delivery.
  • Builds and maintains solid, professional working relationships with peers within the project management, development and business lines.
  • Configure applications for new stakeholders and provide ongoing maintenance (server patching, certificate renewals).
  • Act as a liaison between business, vendor and technology groups during investigations as well as preparing various service requests.
  • Troubleshoot minor and major system problems in a timely manner and escalate to vendor for support when necessary.
