The Technical Manager will oversee the local technical team and day-to-day activities within NPD and QC, providing mentorship, training, and guidance to ensure the delivery of high-quality work. This role involves leading and managing the project portfolio within the region, adhering to project timelines, and coordinating resources globally. The manager will also be responsible for EHS compliance, maintaining and updating risk assessments, COSHH, and SOPs for laboratory environments. Quality assurance includes maintaining and developing NPD and QC systems and procedures, implementing new SOPs, and ensuring compliance with ISO 9001. The position requires providing technical guidance and governance to the business, supporting teams through development projects and quality investigations, and liaising with commercial and marketing functions to support the technical roadmap and business strategy. The role also involves conferring with scientists, engineers, and customers regarding research and field test results, preparing technical papers and reports, and maintaining accurate documentation for all technical work. A key aspect is driving improvement through Kaizen, making recommendations for facilities or process enhancements, and maintaining an efficient working environment. The Technical Manager must work to site health, safety, and quality standards, be proactive in reporting issues, and control chemical and process hazards.
