About The Position

The Technical Manager is a member of the Project Engineering Team on the CANDU MONARK Project, responsible for overseeing the integration of systems and plant processes of the design program within engineering, inclusive of interfacing with all stakeholders. The Technical Manager will report functionally and daily to the Technical Director, Plant Integration & Configuration Management.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering and Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) designation in Ontario, or eligibility to obtain registration within six months.
  • Proven experience managing complex multidisciplinary engineering projects with extensive coordination across engineering, procurement, quality, contracts, and construction teams.
  • Strong nuclear industry background, including at least 5 years of nuclear/CANDU experience and familiarity with CSA N286 and CSA N299 quality standards.
  • Minimum 5 years of technical leadership experience with a demonstrated track record of delivering complex projects in regulated environments.
  • Knowledge of nuclear plant systems, operations, maintenance, and applicable engineering standards related to electrical, instrumentation & control, and mechanical design.
  • Excellent organizational, stakeholder communication, and team leadership skills, with willingness to travel, obtain security clearance, and support project activities at client, construction, and supplier sites.

Responsibilities

  • Lead multidisciplinary engineering teams in integrating complex nuclear systems, resolving technical conflicts, and maintaining nuclear safety standards.
  • Oversee system interface management, including identification of system-level interfaces and maintenance of the interface database.
  • Direct the development and execution of integration, subsystem, and system verification test plans and procedures.
  • Improve engineering efficiency by streamlining workflows, coordinating deliverables, and removing barriers impacting safety, quality, cost, and schedule.
  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders, including engineering, procurement, construction, and vendors, to ensure designs are safe, compliant, constructable, operable, and maintainable.
  • Manage and mentor a team of 3-5 engineers through performance coaching, goal setting, training, staff development, and day-to-day supervisory responsibilities.
