About The Position

As the TECHNICAL MANAGER – CONSTRUCTION INTERFACE (CENTRUS PROGRAM), you will play a pivotal leadership role supporting CENTRUS program objectives by bridging and optimizing the interface between technical design and construction teams. You will serve as WSP’s senior technical counterpart to PSPC construction managers, CM partners, design‑assist trades, and senior client representatives. In this role, you will strengthen integration, accelerate issue resolution, and drive clarity and alignment across a complex heritage MEC installation program.

Requirements

  • 15+ years of senior technical leadership experience on large, complex, multi‑stakeholder programs.
  • Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) or Architect preferred; construction‑based certifications an asset.
  • Proven ability to lead interface management between design teams, construction managers, and clients.
  • Experience navigating senior‑level CM and ADM‑level technical forums with credibility.
  • Demonstrated skill in resolving multi‑disciplinary technical issues under pressure.
  • Systems thinker capable of balancing constructability, sequencing, safety, quality, contractual obligations, and downstream impacts.
  • Highly structured, decisive, pragmatic, and oriented toward closure and technical integrity.
  • This position requires a valid Secret security clearance issued by the Government of Canada

Responsibilities

  • Act as the day‑to‑day senior technical counterpart to the Centrus Design Manager and Project Manager.
  • Collaborate closely with the CM’s MEC Manager and Design Assist partners to ensure constructability alignment.
  • Represent WSP’s integrated technical position in CM and Client forums, ensuring clarity, decisiveness, and alignment.
  • Lead high‑stakes meetings, enabling the Program Director to focus on governance and client relationships.
  • Drive the resolution of CM comments, RFIs, sequencing issues, access and maintenance needs, and constructability challenges.
  • Ensure smooth transition of design package delivery into construction administration support.
  • Prevent technical issues from escalating into claims, delays, or reputational risk.
  • Serve as senior integrator across all disciplines, packages, and phases within the CENTRUS program.
  • Maintain issue registers, interface logs, decision records, and ensure all technical positions are coordinated and defensible.
  • Lead technical discussions, de‑escalate contentious situations, and present structured recommendations to senior leadership.
  • Identify and elevate program‑level risks while aligning mitigation actions with commercial and program strategy.
