About The Position

AECOM is seeking a Technical Lead, Drinking Water Treatment Engineer to provide technical leadership within its BC Water Team. This role offers the opportunity to shape and lead complex water treatment solutions that support safe, resilient, and sustainable communities across the province. Requirements

Bachelor’s degree and 10+ years of relevant engineering experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and education in drinking water treatment engineering, with a focus on developing client focused solutions while achieving modeling and regulatory compliance.
Registered as a Professional Engineer in the province of BC (or eligible to become registered within 12 months).

Strong understanding of local, provincial, and federal regulations related to water treatment and quality.
AWWA certifications or other relevant water treatment specialties preferred.
Travel as needed for project site visits and client meetings.

Responsibilities

Lead the modeling and simulation of drinking water treatment processes, utilizing advanced computational tools and techniques.
Ensure designs comply with all applicable environmental regulations and standards.
Conduct assessments and identify areas for improvement in existing water treatment systems.
Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to design and implement innovative water treatment solutions.
Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers and project staff.
Prepare and review technical reports, proposals, and documentation for regulatory submissions.
Engage with stakeholders, including regulatory agencies, clients, and community members, to discuss project developments and compliance matters.
Assist with the planning and pursuit of new business opportunities.
Uses creativity, foresight and mature judgment in anticipating and solving unprecedented technical problems.
Provides visible industry and technical leadership within and outside of AECOM.
