About The Position
Avita Health System is seeking a dedicated Technical Lab Assistant (TLA) to join their Laboratory Department at the Avita Galion Hospital location. This role involves maintaining laboratory equipment, assisting with clerical duties, supporting technicians and technologists, performing phlebotomy procedures, processing specimens, and conducting CLIA-waived testing to produce quality results, all under the supervision of the Laboratory Director or designee.
Requirements
- High School diploma or equivalent.
- Current BLS certification.
- At least two (2) years of full time experience in a hospital laboratory setting with phlebotomy experience.
- Adheres to regulatory requirements including all State, Federal and the accrediting body regulations.
Nice To Haves
- Previous experience working as a Phlebotomist.
- Graduate of a Certified Phlebotomy program.
- Phlebotomy certification.
- Medical Terminology
Responsibilities
- Maintains laboratory equipment as necessary.
- Assists in clerical duties of the department.
- Assists technicians and technologists as needed.
- Responsible for phlebotomy procedures and processing of other specimens.
- Performs CLIA-waived testing while producing quality results.
