About The Position
In this position, you will participate in BAE Systems' nationwide LEAP Internship & Co-op Program, where you will Learn, Engage, Apply, and Progress within the company. The LEAP Program will provide you with the opportunity to work alongside experienced professionals on impactful projects, engage in career development opportunities, and network with our business leaders and the other students in the program. The Operations Strategic Capabilities Unit plays a fundamental role in enabling efficient business and program execution – from strategic capital investments, industrial operations and an efficient supply chain, to state-of-the-art manufacturing and test operations and top-notch facilities management.
Requirements
- Must have completed your sophomore or junior year and be enrolled in a degree program for the fall of 2027.
- We will also accept students enrolled in a graduate degree program.
- Degree must be from a university, college, or school which is accredited by an agency recognized by the US Secretary of Education, US Department of Education.
- A solid desire to learn and excellent work ethic.
- Good interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively in a team and solo environment.
- Proficiency in MS Office tools.
Nice To Haves
- Mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, aerospace engineering majors or a related field preferred
- Experience or knowledge in Process Improvement/Design for Six Sigma.
- Experience in MatLab or CAD.
- Interested in Analytics.
Responsibilities
- Support cross-functional team projects to improve business process effectiveness.
- Support program teams in execution of deliverables and requirements.
- Develop metrics and other performance measures from business tool datasets to inform improvements and effectiveness.
- Support the piloting of process changes and implementation activities.
- Work with process owners to improve affordability, effectiveness and correctness of process documents.
- Conduct briefings and participate in technical meetings.
- Assess requirements and develop, communicate, address, and translate into executable quality assurance requirements.
- Support anomaly, non-conformance, and root cause & corrective-action related processes.
- Support miscellaneous quality assurance job duties needed throughout a program lifecycle.
- Maintain a regular and predictable work schedule.
- Establish and maintain effective working relationships within the department, the Strategic Business Units, Strategic Capabilities Units and the Company.
- Interact appropriately with others in order to maintain a positive and productive work environment.
- Perform other duties as necessary.
