About The Position

The Aerospace and Mission Systems Segment at BAE Systems focuses on advanced electronics for various applications, including emissions reduction, space exploration (Mars Rover), and defense (F35 fighter jet). The Operations team within Electronic Systems transforms innovative engineering designs into tangible solutions. This internship offers opportunities to work with advanced manufacturing technology and participate in training and development programs. In this role, you will manage daily print farm operations and the end-to-end preparation of additive parts. Your responsibilities range from machine calibration and maintenance to detailed physical post-processing, including sanding, tapping threads, and installing heat-set inserts via soldering. You will utilize slicing software and precision measurement tools to ensure all components meet strict quality standards and are assembled correctly for final use. This position is full-time and onsite, requiring 100% of the work to be conducted at a BAE Systems facility due to the need for consistent, in-person collaboration and the nature of the role. You will participate in the BAE Systems' nationwide LEAP Internship & Co-op Program (Learn, Engage, Apply, and Progress), which provides opportunities to work on impactful projects, engage in career development, and network with professionals and other students.

Requirements

  • Actively enrolled in a Bachelor’s Degree program, entering Junior or Senior year in any engineering/technical or business degree.
  • Motivated individual with strong problem-solving abilities and ability to work independently.
  • Effective communication skills (both verbal and written).
  • Excellent team player who is willing to contribute and learn.
