About The Position

The Saskatchewan Liquor and Gaming Authority (SLGA) is seeking a self-motivated and detail-oriented individual to provide support as a Technical Integrity Analyst within the Gaming Integrity and Licensing Branch. This position is required to work on-site, reporting to the Manager, Technical Integrity. The Technical Integrity Analyst is responsible for providing technical support and guidance on all matters concerning the technical integrity of gaming in Saskatchewan, including oversight of all lottery activities regulated by the Saskatchewan Liquor and Gaming Authority (SLGA) across both electronic and non‑electronic formats. Areas of focus include, but are not limited to, slot machines, video lottery terminals (VLTs), table games, electronic raffle systems, lottery kiosks, online gaming, and bingo. This role ensures the integrity of all gaming activities through the evaluation of the technical integrity of technology‑based products intended for use within the Saskatchewan gaming industry.

Requirements

  • A degree or diploma specializing in Information Technology from a recognized post-secondary educational institution, or an equivalent combination of education and/or experience.
  • Advanced experience applying IT concepts, principles, and emerging technologies.
  • Demonstrated ability to research, analyze, and remain current with gaming industry trends, technologies, and innovations.
  • Ability to interpret and apply gaming legislation, policies, standards, and regulatory frameworks.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to explain complex technical and regulatory issues to diverse audiences.
  • Maintain effective working relationships with gaming laboratories, other jurisdictions, manufacturers, stakeholders, and internal staff.
  • Exercise sound judgment and discretion when handling sensitive or confidential information.
  • Gaming Regulator Registration.

Responsibilities

  • Assess gaming technologies and recommend strategies for implementation and approval.
  • Evaluate technological solutions from a regulatory perspective to ensure compliance with legislation, regulations, and policy.
  • Identify, assess, and examine security issues related to gaming technologies, including casino equipment, electronic raffle systems, online gaming systems, and other gambling devices operating within the province.
  • Administer and maintain a comprehensive database of all electronic gaming systems in the province.
  • Create, maintain, and utilize an interactive system to verify the software authenticity of gaming devices, electronic raffle systems, and lottery terminals.
  • Develop technical training materials and deliver training to employees as required.
  • Provide high‑level technical support, analysis, and recommendations related to gaming technologies, new product approvals, and implementation initiatives to the Manager, Technical Integrity.
  • Collaborate with operators, manufacturers, suppliers, and other jurisdictions to ensure provincial technical gaming requirements are met.
  • Assess the technical aspects of lottery schemes to ensure fairness, security, and auditability, and regulatory compliance, including design and concept, manufacturing and supply, installation and maintenance processes, prize structures, and payout standards.
  • Ensure regular testing of gaming equipment and operational security through random sampling, software authentication tools, and structured technical assessments.
  • Prepare background materials, reports, and analyses related to gaming integrity, customer complaints, and technical issues arising from internal or external inquiries.
  • Critically evaluate information from multiple sources, including technical documentation, site visits, meetings, and reports, and translate complex technical data into clear, actionable insights for technical and non‑technical audiences.
  • Liaise with internal and external stakeholders to support consistent communication, understanding, and resolution of technical gaming matters.
  • Handle all administrative tasks associated with assigned duties.
  • Develop, implement, and enhance reporting processes, procedures, and practices to support the technical integrity function.
