About The Position

Booz Allen Hamilton seeks a Technical Instructor & Course Developer to revise, maintain, and deliver technical curriculum for Air Traffic Control (ATC) training. This role focuses on developing instructional materials for electronics, weapons systems, and related ATC disciplines, integrating computer-based tools and graphics, and facilitating a range of course formats to ensure Navy personnel receive mission-ready training. The candidate will demonstrate effective classroom techniques, develop new teaching methods, and support curriculum innovation. Due to the nature of work performed within this facility, U.S. citizenship is required.

Requirements

  • 8+ years of experience in ATC instruction or course development, including hands-on technical training and curriculum delivery
  • Experience in researching, establishing training needs, and developing training programs for Navy or service equivalent operational environments
  • Experience in training, training development, or instructional support
  • Experience developing training solutions for technical or operational environments
  • Experience drafting technical procedures, guidelines, and instructional documentation for ATC equipment or systems
  • Experience collaborating with cross-functional teams and technical stakeholders
  • Knowledge of learning principles, adult learning concepts, and instructional design theories
  • Ability to revise technical curriculum and implement new instructional methods
  • Ability to draft, edit, and update technical and instructional documents with accuracy and clarity
  • HS diploma or GED

Nice To Haves

  • Experience as a military instructor
  • Experience supporting Air Traffic Control, C4I, or another technical operational field
  • Experience with Navy, Marine Corps, or Army formal training development or instruction
  • Experience using AIM2 and Content Planning Module (CPM) for Navy curriculum management
  • Experience supporting military technical training environments
  • Bachelor’s degree in Education, Instructional Design, Psychology, Curriculum Development, or a related field
  • Possession of excellent written and verbal communication skills

Responsibilities

  • Revise and maintain ATC technical curriculum in alignment with client requirements.
  • Develop technical course content for electronics, weapons systems, and related areas, using computers for drafting and graphics integration.
  • Deliver instructor-led, computer-based, and simulator-based courses, including short technical sessions for Navy personnel.
  • Incorporate new curriculum into existing programs and adapt materials to reflect training needs and operational changes.
  • Demonstrate professional classroom techniques and develop alternative teaching methods to enhance learning outcomes.
  • Act as testing officer, conducting test analysis and supporting the revision of assessments and evaluation tools.
  • Draft, edit, and update technical documents, procedures, and guidelines for ATC systems.
  • Conduct research to establish training needs and develop effective training programs.
