About The Position

Performs inspections and audits on part processing to ensure quality requirements are met according to customer specifications, quality procedures, and work instructions. Works independently on scheduled tasks with periodic check-ins with management for special assignments. Work is guided by established company policy and customer quality requirements. This role does not involve supervising other employees.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma required.
  • Proficient in basic blueprint reading.
  • Proficient in quality practices and inspection techniques.
  • Proficient in data collection devices.
  • Proficient in statistical process control (SPC).
  • Proficient in gage and measurement device usage.
  • Proficient in problem-solving reporting.
  • Must be able to train on another shift.
  • Physically capable of lifting a minimum of 40# on a repetitive basis and a maximum of 70# on an occasional basis.
  • Must wear PPE including hearing protection and safety glasses.
  • Must provide own slip-resistant shoes.

Nice To Haves

  • One year of quality experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Performs inspections and audits on part processing.
  • Inspects and documents conformance of incoming material (vendor supplied and subcontractor processed).
  • Inspects and documents results of in-process and product checks, including machine setups, tool changes, control plan inspections, and verification of sorted product.
  • Observes blueprints for dimensions and requirements to ensure quality and production standards.
  • Checks measuring devices for accuracy before use.
  • Performs and documents final inspection and dock audits, including product verification layouts/audits, packaging/shipping paperwork audits, and cleanliness/sediment testing.
  • Stops production when defects are found, contains, and reports all suspect material/product.
  • Generates and reviews inspection and setup paperwork.
  • Reviews blueprints for accuracy.
  • Enters SPC measurements into the SPC System.
  • Completes necessary paperwork, including line inspection reports, layout reports, hold up cards, bar coding transactions, bar stock tags, and next operation tags.
  • Performs daily QAD entries.
  • Performs full dimensional layouts.
  • Performs statistical analysis to confirm capability of products and processes.
  • Participates in completion of Gage Repeatability & Reproducibility Analysis.
  • Conducts gage calibration/verification when required.
