Inside Sales / Applications Engineer activities include fielding customer inquiries; understanding and applying rotating equipment; preparing customer proposals; troubleshooting and problem solving, supporting pre-order and post-order processes; and building relationships with customers and principals. Specific roles and responsibilities of Technical Inside Sales / Application Engineers include: Effectively communicate with a broad array of customers, including engineering, maintenance, and purchasing staff Provide professional and prompt responses via phone, email, in-person, etc. Review and evaluate technical specifications (industrial) Prepare quotations and proposals, and execute a follow-up process utilizing company tools and guidelines Experience with Customer Relationship Management software (Salesforce desired Enter purchase orders into NetSuite and place orders with manufacturers using their systems and procedures as well Expedite orders as needed to meet customer requirements. Facilitate communication and provide status updates to customers and sales engineers as needed Provide technical & administrative assistance to internal customers, including sales, service, order entry, and parts staff Maintain positive relationships with principals and establish effective marketing practices for their products Keep an organized & resourceful work environment Occasional travel for training or other business purposes Perform all other duties as assigned
