About The Position

Join a high performing technical team supporting a mission critical U.S. Department of Justice program. As a Technical Analyst – Application Engineer, you'll design automations, develop reporting and analytics solutions, and support CGI's Momentum financial and procurement systems within a large federal enterprise environment. This role blends engineering, analytics, and cloud enabled automation to help DOJ modernize financial operations, improve data visibility, and streamline mission support functions. Your future duties and responsibilities: . Design, build, test, and deploy automation solutions that streamline workflows and improve operational efficiency across DOJ financial and procurement systems. . Develop reporting solutions using 4GL tools, forms, dashboards, and custom SQL queries to support data-driven decision making. . Troubleshoot, document, and resolve ERP issues, interface behaviors, configuration defects, and performance bottlenecks. . Write and execute User Validation scripts supporting system releases and functional enhancements. . Perform data analysis across Momentum schemas (financials, procurement, budgeting) to identify trends, errors, and optimization opportunities. . Collaborate with DOJ program staff, SMEs, developers, and product teams to influence solution enhancements and enterprise product roadmaps. . Investigate business process outcomes for accuracy, compliance, and efficiency; propose automation or redesign opportunities. . Support environment maintenance across dev/test/prod tiers, including installing weekly builds, applying patches, refreshing environments, and validating deployments. . Manage and update AMIs or equivalent environment baselines to ensure secure, repeatable, and consistently configured application environments. . Execute routine deployment tasks such as code drops, configuration updates, automated pipeline promotions, and post deployment verification steps. . Coordinate with infrastructure and cloud teams to troubleshoot environment-level issues, monitor system health, and ensure uptime and stability for Momentum and related applications. . Assist with documentation of technical designs, test artifacts, change requests, and compliance materials.

Requirements

  • U.S. Citizenship (due to the nature of the DOJ contract).
  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, IT, MIS, Engineering, or related field.
  • Experience supporting Momentum or other federal financial/ERP solutions (UFMS, SAP Federal, Oracle Federal, etc.).
  • Hands-on experience with Linux, SQL, Python, and at least one compiled or enterprise language (.NET/C# or Java).
  • Strong understanding of relational database structures, query optimization, and data modeling concepts.
  • Experience working in Agile or DevOps environments across the full SDLC: requirements, design, development, testing, documentation, deployment, and O&M.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple priorities, operate with minimal supervision, and deliver high quality results in a fast paced environment.
  • Demonstrated success working with SMEs, analysts, developers, vendors, and cross functional client teams.
  • Strong problem solving ability, communication skills, and attention to detail.
  • Track record of meeting client expectations and contributing to successful deliveries.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust background investigation.
  • Commitment to secure coding, data stewardship, and audit ready documentation.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with IBM Workload Automation, webMethods, web services, or similar integration/middleware platforms.
  • Exposure to AWS cloud services (EC2, Lambda, RDS for Oracle, EFS, CloudWatch) and/or automated CI/CD workflows (GitLab, Jira, pipelines).
  • Familiarity with BI/data analytics tools (Power BI, Tableau, Qlik, Looker, or similar).
  • Understanding of federal financial processes (procurement, funds control, budgeting) is highly preferred.
