About The Position

Are you the kind of inside sales professional that complex customers actually rely on someone who knows their account inside and out and makes sure nothing slips through the cracks? At MCE, our Inside Technical Sales Representatives are critical partners for our customers with unique specifications and complex ordering requirements. You'll work side by side with our outside sales team, handling everything from quotes and order processing to technical consultation, inventory forecasting, and vendor managed inventory reviews. You'll be the person customers trust to know their account, anticipate their needs, and get it done. If you're organized, technically curious, and thrive in a fast-paced environment where the work is never the same twice this is a role you can build a career in.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of inside sales, account management, or technical customer service experience.
  • Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Word) and experience with ERP and/or CRM platforms.
  • Organized and detail-oriented able to manage multiple complex accounts simultaneously without losing accuracy.
  • Clear, professional communicator who can build rapport quickly and navigate customer challenges calmly.
  • High school diploma or equivalent; relevant experience is what matters most.

Nice To Haves

  • Knowledge of fluid power systems hydraulics, pneumatics, or related components.
  • Fluid power systems training or certifications.
  • 5+ years of customer success or technical inside sales experience.
  • Familiarity with the MRO (maintenance, repair, and operations) industry.
  • Bachelor's degree in business, engineering, or a related field.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the inside technical partner for a dedicated set of complex accounts understanding their unique requirements and making sure every order, quote, and delivery meets their expectations.
  • Manage inbound and outbound customer communication promptly and professionally, building trust through consistent, reliable service.
  • Partner with the outside sales team to support long-term account planning, forecasting, and growth strategies.
  • Process quotes and orders accurately and efficiently, with a sharp eye for customer-specific requirements and configurations.
  • Provide technical consultation to customers on fluid power systems, components, and solutions.
  • Monitor open orders for on-time delivery against customer commitments flagging issues proactively before they escalate.
  • Engage with MCE's Engineering Solutions team as needed on complex or custom requirements.
  • Forecast inventory purchases based on customer demand patterns to ensure product availability and minimize lead time surprises.
  • Conduct Vendor Managed Inventory (VMI) reviews for assigned accounts to keep stock levels optimized and replenishment on track.
  • Maintain accurate records in CRM and ERP systems keeping account activity, order status, and customer details current.
