About The Position

Stryker, a global leader in medical technology, is seeking talented co-op students to join their team and drive business forward. This Technical Field Service Co-op role offers the opportunity to apply classroom knowledge in a fast-paced industry, implement new ideas, and develop skills through hands-on experience with medical devices. Students will gain troubleshooting experience, network with key stakeholders, participate in a mentorship program, and engage in professional development events with other Stryker students across Canada and the United States.

Requirements

  • Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to work flexible hours at customer’s requests (often late afternoons and evenings).
  • Highly organized, strong time management skills and ability to prioritize multiple tasks.
  • Knowledge of proper lifting/body mechanic techniques and ability to lift and move items up to 50 pounds.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills to work together with internal company stakeholders.
  • Must have an outstanding driving record.
  • Currently enrolled in a co-operative education program working on completion of a bachelor’s degree in related field or equivalent (Science, technology, engineering).
  • Full time or part time student at a Canadian institution.
  • Must be legally authorized to work in Canada and not require employment-based sponsorship now or in the future.

Responsibilities

  • Travel between hospitals based on assignment of service requests.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve customer and product issues with focus on Communication and Instruments portfolio.
  • Build positive relationships with Stryker customers.
  • Perform Preventative Maintenance functions on Stryker equipment.
  • Document service results to maintain accurate quality records.
  • Work with other Field Service representatives to ensure customer satisfaction.
  • Promote Stryker’s business by recognizing opportunities to fulfill additional customer needs and communicating with the appropriate Stryker personnel for follow up.
  • Follow all administrative duties in a very accurate and timely manner, maintain mileage logs, expense reports and service documentation.
  • Enter parts and replenishment stock into the system and maintain accurate inventory levels for parts and accessories.
  • Suggest and support the team and cross functional projects for continuous improvement including process optimization to increase efficiency, lower costs and inventory level optimization and accuracy.
  • Other duties including administrative tasks as assigned by Manager/Supervisor.
  • Abide by and support the policies set forth in the Stryker Code of Conduct.
  • Conduct work in compliance with all laws, rules, and regulations and in accordance with Stryker’s high ethical standards.
  • Report any violations of these policies and procedures to Stryker management or in the manner outlined in Stryker’s Ethics Hotline Policy.
