About The Position

This position exists to ensure the safe, efficient, and compliant operation of laboratory services by optimizing analytical methods, instrumentation, and resources to deliver accurate and reliable data in support of production and business objectives. The role drives quality, environmental stewardship, and continuous improvement by aligning laboratory practices with regulatory requirements, company policies, and industry standards (including ISO and EPA), while providing technical leadership, supporting operational performance, and enabling effective problem-solving across the organization.

Requirements

  • 0–3 years of experience in Vinyl plant operations or technology, and/or a strong background in chemistry and analytical troubleshooting/problem-solving.
  • Personal computer skills and applicable software.
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Good business and technical writing capability.
  • Knowledge of analytical chemistry and instrumentation.
  • Ability to collect, analyze, and interpret data from commercial plant operations.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Be self-motivated and eager to learn.
  • Must be organized in a manner that allows multiple issues to be handled at the same time.
  • B.S. Degree in (specific engineering field such as Mechanical, Process, Chemical) engineering required; other engineering disciplines from ABET-accredited universities may be considered.
  • Will require training in Company Policies and Procedures after hire.
  • Current employees must meet all technical and safety training requirements for current position, as specified in the Master Training Plan.

Responsibilities

  • Provide regulatory and technical support to operating units to ensure smooth operations, consistent production of high-quality products, and prevention of unplanned process interruptions.
  • Study the process, identify areas for improvement, and help the production units achieve best industry practices while addressing problem areas.
  • Support customer complaint investigations through data analysis and corrective actions.
  • Collaborate with Quality and Operations to resolve discrepancies, deviations, and product quality issues that may impact production or shipment.
  • Assist in determining root causes and implementing corrective measures to ensure consistent delivery of quality products.
  • Notifications, comments, and action to the corresponding departments including Production and Traffic Department are needed if potential problems are found in production process or in traffic loading area.
  • Operate lab instrumentation and/or equipment proficiently.
  • Develop analytical methods and SOPs, providing training to technicians for updated procedures.
  • Troubleshoot and repair analytical instruments.
  • Interpret and understand analytical results.
  • Routinely review data for the labs and/or production units served using TQMS.
  • Coordinate lab activities and supervise technicians as needed.
  • Initiate and perform improvement projects or special assignments.
  • Review SOPs every year and update them as needed.
  • Develop, implement, and optimize analytical methods and procedures aligned with operational needs.
  • Collaborate with operations to monitor process quality, conduct troubleshooting and root cause analysis, and drive process optimization to enhance product performance and reliability.
  • Establish and refine testing methods based on product requirements, and develop QA/QC programs and procedures to support both ongoing production and new product development.
  • Promote cleanliness and order through implementation of the Total House Keeping Maintenance program.
  • Emphasize Nothing Touch Ground program and No Visual Pollution program.
  • Maintain the plant like new condition.
