About The Position

Brice Engineering LLC is seeking a Technical Editor to work on-site at either the Anchorage, AK or Salt Lake City, UT office. This role involves developing, editing, formatting, and creating PDFs of highly specialized material for technical reports, ensuring all materials meet established standards of appearance and content according to company or project-specific guidance. The position is under indirect supervision of the Senior Technical Editor.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution.
• 5-10 years of experience directly related to duties and responsibilities.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and Adobe Acrobat.
• Ability to meet deadlines.
• Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
• Ability to edit technical documents for clarity, consistency, grammar, organization, and adherence to company standards.
• Ability to work effectively in a virtual team environment and adapt to company and team practices.
• Ability to develop and prepare reports for printing.
• Skill in document layout and formatting for professional technical publications.
• Knowledge of printing procedures and requirements.
• Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to effectively communicate with a wide range of individuals and constituencies in a diverse community.
• Valid state driver’s license and qualified to operate a vehicle under the conditions of the Company’s Driving Policy.
• Ability to pass drug and background screening.

Nice To Haves

• Skills in Adobe Acrobat Pro/Creative Suite, SharePoint, PowerPoint, or Teams are beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Editing technical reports, work plans, proposals, and related documents involving highly specialized and scientific information.
• Preparing deliverables for client submittal.
• Meeting production schedules to ensure completion by established deadlines.
• Following company and project-specific guidance and best practices to accurately edit, prepare, and produce high-quality, consistent technical documentation.
• Using Microsoft Office applications, Adobe Acrobat Pro, and company tools to complete and track assignments.
• Interpreting and applying project requirements.
• Coordinating with technical staff to resolve document issues and maintain consistency and quality across complex deliverables.
• Formatting and producing complex computer-generated forms, tables, and graphs.
• Maintaining organized electronic files and document records in company systems.
• Applying USACE Alaska MED, Section 508, and other government/agency requirements to submittals as needed.
• Producing hard copies/DVDs as assigned and coordinating shipping of deliverables.
• Performing other job-related duties as assigned.
• Assisting with onboarding or training junior editorial staff.
• Working in a constant state of alertness and in a safe manner.
