About The Position

Oversee complex programs that drive impactful mission outcomes for our customers as a Technical Editor Senior. Here, you’ll see the bigger picture on mission initiatives and where your program management career can go at GDIT. Produce clear, accurate, and well-structured technical documentation, including plans, procedures, reports, and customer deliverables, while ensuring consistency and readability. Edit and refine content for grammar, clarity, organization, and logical flow; improve tables, graphics, and diagrams to meet professional standards. Collaborate closely with engineers, analysts, and other subject matter experts to gather information and translate complex concepts into user friendly documentation. Manage document versions, status tracking, and deadlines by updating project tracking tools and maintaining organized file repositories. Ensure all content follows required templates, formatting guidelines, and accessibility standards, including Section 508 compliance when applicable. Review incoming documentation requests, prioritize assignments, and communicate early with project teams when clarifications or corrections are needed. Conduct root cause analysis on documentation issues and recommend improvements to templates, workflows, and content creation processes. Maintain timely, professional communication with project stakeholders to resolve questions, provide updates, and ensure smooth delivery of high-quality documents. Support cross team collaboration by sharing best practices, assisting with onboarding, and contributing to continuous process improvement initiatives.

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Arts/Bachelor of Science
  • 5+ years of related experience in technical editing, documentation, or knowledge management
  • Technical editing and structured authoring, content management systems, Microsoft Office; AI tools; BPA techniques
  • Public Trust security clearance level
  • US citizenship required: No
