About The Position

At Northrop Grumman, we are seeking an experienced Technical Editor/Writer to join our diverse and talented material development group to support our customers. In this role, you will be responsible for developing Software installation material and documentation, as well as related technical publications. You must be able to communicate clearly and effectively to express technical specifications and instructions to a wide range of audiences. This involves acquiring subject knowledge by interviewing product developers, observing production methods, and referring to technical specifications, engineering drawings, and trade journals. The position is located in Huntsville, Alabama, with no remote work possibility.

Requirements

  • Level 2: 2 Years experience as a Technical Editor and Writer with a Bachelor’s degree; 0 Years experience with a Master’s degree.
  • Level 3: 5 Years experience as a Technical Editor and Writer with a Bachelor’s degree; 2 Years experience with a Master’s degree.
  • Level 4: 8 Years experience as a Technical Editor and Writer with a Bachelor’s degree; 5 Years experience with a Master’s degree.
  • Experience working with military technical documents related to training development, training delivery, and integrated logistics support (e.g., ARs, Mil Specifications and Preferences, Technical Bulletins, IETMs, DIDs).
  • 2+ years of experience and advanced skills with the Microsoft Office product suite.
  • 2+ years of experience and intermediate skills with Adobe Acrobat, Adobe InDesign, and Adobe Illustrator.
  • Must possess an active Secret Security Clearance.
  • U.S. Citizenship is required for all positions with a government clearance.

Nice To Haves

  • Master’s Degree in English, Writing, Instructional Design, or related field.
  • Certification in AGILE/SAFe, such as Scrum Master, DevOps, Product Management, etc.
  • Experience working with RIDGE software tool/Git.
  • Experience in Advanced Adobe Acrobat, InDesign, and/or Adobe Illustrator user.

Responsibilities

  • Developing Software installation material and documentation.
