Technical Ecommerce Manager

Wellbeam Consumer Health
$80,000 - $90,000Remote

About The Position

At BioTRUST, we’re on a mission to help people live longer, healthier, more vibrant lives — and our website is how most of them find us. Nearly all of our revenue runs through BioTRUST.com and our landing pages, and today that entire surface sits with one person. We’re rebuilding the function around a different idea: one strong technical operator inside the company, supported by contracted development for the work that genuinely needs engineers. We’re looking for a Technical Ecommerce Manager to be that operator. You know Shopify inside and out, you would rather fix the thing than file a ticket about it, and you can tell a configuration problem from a code problem in minutes. Just as importantly, you’re genuinely curious about the positive impact nutrition and healthy aging can have on people’s lives and you’re excited to help build it. You’ll be the single front door for everything on our site — building pages and funnels, running the request queue, protecting site health, and deciding what is worth sending to developers. It’s hands-on work with real ownership and very little bureaucracy between you and shipping something. Let’s build something great together.

Requirements

  • Read and edit Liquid (templates, sections, snippets).
  • Build new sections by adapting existing ones and debug rendering issues.
  • Confident HTML and CSS for fixing layouts, adjusting responsive breakpoints, and restyling components.
  • Intermediate JavaScript: read existing scripts, write small vanilla JS, debug console errors.
  • Understand Shopify theme architecture (sections, blocks, schema, JSON templates, theme settings).
  • Basic Git: branch, commit, read a diff, revert.
  • Proficient with browser devtools (inspect, console, network tab).
  • Ability to run and act on Lighthouse audits.
  • Expert-level Shopify admin: products, variants, metafields, automated collections, markets, navigation, redirects.
  • Configuration-level experience with a subscription platform (Recharge preferred): plan setup, swaps, skip/pause logic, dunning, failed-payment flows, customer portal.
  • Understand discounts and checkout configuration, including limitations requiring a developer.
  • App stack management: install, configure, audit, identify conflicts and performance issues.
  • Google Tag Manager: build and debug tags, triggers, and variables; fluent in preview mode.
  • GA4: set up events, build funnel explorations, recognize data issues.
  • Verify Meta pixel and CAPI firing and understand deduplication.
  • Write specs for developers.
  • Build and run workflows in Notion (or comparable tools like Asana, Jira, Linear, ClickUp).
  • Manage a development partner: review estimates, track hours, enforce response times.
  • Own a QA checklist and hold releases when they fail.
  • Coordinate across Growth, Customer Service, Brand, and Product teams.
  • 3+ years running a Shopify store day-to-day in a direct-to-consumer business (Shopify Plus preferred).
  • Direct, hands-on experience with a subscription platform.
  • Self-starter with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks in a changing environment.
  • Strong organizational skills to manage requests, specs, releases, and deadlines.
  • Clear, direct communication skills to set expectations and explain technical constraints.
  • Comfort with data and the instinct to use it for decision-making.
  • Willingness to learn new tools and systems.

Nice To Haves

  • Supplements, health or wellness category experience.
  • CRO or experimentation background.
  • SQL, or comfort reconciling numbers across systems.
  • Experience working alongside an automated build or deployment pipeline.

Responsibilities

  • Site operations: Build, schedule, and verify product pages, collections, homepage, and promotions.
  • Landers and funnels: Write specs for automated pipeline, QA in staging, publish, and track test results.
  • Checkout and subscription: Own plan setup, customer-facing flows, and monitor payment failures on Recharge.
  • Technical stack management: Fix configuration issues and write specs for code-based issues related to theme, apps, integrations, and tracking.
  • Triage and project management: Reproduce, classify, and resolve or route customer service, brand, and product requests. Manage intake, prioritization, release tracking, and documentation in Notion.
  • Vendor management: Manage development partner, review estimates, track hours, enforce response times, and prevent scope creep.
  • Site health monitoring: Conduct monthly reviews of site speed, error rates, conversion funnels, and identify issues.
  • Site relaunch: Play a central role in an upcoming site relaunch, requiring hands-on experience with a relaunch, replatform, or major redesign.
