About The Position

Our client, is seeking to add a NEW Technical Director to their team. We are seeking a Technical Director at a pivotal stage of growth as the organization evolves from a model built on individual expertise to one driven by scalable systems, standardized processes, and national expansion. This role is responsible for capturing, codifying, and scaling technical expertise across a growing network of franchise partners and mobile laboratories. The ideal candidate brings deep Industrial Hygiene (IH) knowledge and uses that expertise to build systems that ensure consistent, high-quality execution across all locations. This is a Direct Hire role.

Requirements

  • Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH) designation
  • 8–10+ years of experience in environmental testing, consulting, or lab services
  • Hands-on expertise in asbestos, mold, lead, and hazardous materials
  • Experience developing SOPs, quality systems, and accreditation processes
  • Strong knowledge of regulatory frameworks and audit processes
  • Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Hygiene, Environmental Science, Chemistry, or related field

Responsibilities

  • Accreditation & Compliance Lead NVLAP accreditation from readiness assessment through certification
  • Oversee professional licensing and laboratory accreditations across all operations
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local environmental regulations
  • Manage audit preparation, proficiency testing, and quality control documentation
  • Build scalable compliance systems to support multi-site and franchise operations
  • Develop and maintain a comprehensive library of mobile lab SOPs
  • Standardize technical procedures to ensure consistency and defensibility
  • Evaluate emerging testing methods and technologies
  • Define service offerings based on technical rigor, market demand, and risk
  • Design training frameworks that build true technical competency
  • Standardize onboarding and continuing education across all locations
  • Capture and document institutional knowledge into scalable systems
  • Ensure consistent technical performance across field and lab teams
  • Serve as senior CIH, providing guidance on complex or high-risk projects
  • Support field teams with sampling strategies, methodologies, and reporting
  • Maintain high technical standards through process and leadership
  • Provide expertise in asbestos, mold, lead, and hazardous materials testing
  • Act as the technical authority in client and partner discussions
  • Represent the organization at industry events and with regulatory bodies
  • Support franchise partners in understanding and maintaining technical standards
