About The Position

This role is for a Technical Director of Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) who will provide direction to a portfolio of EIAs across various sectors including nuclear power, electricity transmission, renewable energy, and other energy and infrastructure projects. The position requires a skilled consultant to guide regulatory processes, advise clients, and support stakeholder engagement. Expertise in Ontario's Environmental Assessment Act and/or the federal Impact Assessment Act is crucial for delivering innovative solutions for sustainable communities.

Requirements

Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in environmental studies, planning, science, or engineering.
15+ years of experience managing EIAs and navigating regulatory processes in Ontario or across Canada.
Proven ability to manage complex projects and multi-disciplinar teams, providing guidance and mentorship to other staff.
Understanding of consulting processes and tools with strong attention to detail and excellent time management skills.
Experience with business development, winning work and proposal writing.
Strong experience working with the Ontario and federal regulatory and permitting processes.

Responsibilities

Provide expert-level guidance and direction on Environmental Impact Assessments for multi-disciplinary projects across the energy and infrastructure sectors.
Develop regulatory roadmaps, environmental permit plans, and monitoring programs that ensure compliance and sustainability.
Provide strategic technical leadership and quality reviews for EIAs and supporting documentation.
Consult with regulators and clients, fostering strong relationships and innovative engagement programs with Indigenous communities, the general public, and stakeholders.
Drive business development by identifying new opportunities and supporting proposals for the team.
Mentor junior and intermediate staff, promoting growth and knowledge sharing within the team.
