Technical Development Technologist
About The Position
The Technical Development Technologist is responsible for improving existing processes and managing the implementation of new processes, equipment and materials. Improving the productivity of the plastics business by supporting the production and maintenance teams with processing or equipment issues, while also managing and implementing continuous improvement or new product development projects in the production environment. In addition to monitoring and evaluating industry innovations, processing, materials, and equipment for potential benefits to efficiency, safety or productivity.
Requirements
- 5+ years of full-time work experience in corrugated pipes manufacturing.
- 20+ years of full-time work experience in a plastics production environment.
- Qualification in polymer technologies.
- An extensive knowledge of polymer processes and materials.
- Previous experience in Project Management.
- Proven track record of delivering cost-saving project management.
Nice To Haves
- Experience in injection-moulding process will be an asset.
Responsibilities
- Implement new processes, equipment and materials.
- Make recommendations for improving any production process or equipment.
- Support with any training and the generation of SOPs and guides.
- Evaluate production metrics and KPI’s and make recommendations.
- Support in the troubleshooting of processing and equipment issues.
- Provide technical support across all Armtec branches
