About The Position

As a Technical Designer with Gensler’s team in Atlanta, you will support the design and delivery of complex and impactful projects across Hospitality, Mixed Use, Residential, Critical Facilities, Retail, and Workplace sectors. You will operate within a highly collaborative, client-focused culture that emphasizes design quality, resilience, and social purpose. Your role involves collaborating with Architects and Interior Designers to bring design visions to life through innovative problem-solving and adherence to design best practices. You will produce technical documentation, communicate project progress to team members, and develop drawings, details, and diagrams using Revit and other necessary tools. The position supports all project phases from conceptual/schematic design through construction administration, including coordination with consultants, contractors, fabricators, specification writers, and regulatory agencies. Responsibilities also include participating in construction administration, evaluating bids, conducting site visits, addressing technical issues, and maintaining quality control during construction. Communicating design concepts will involve hand drawings and 3D software renderings.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Architecture from an accredited program
  • 0-3 years of relevant experience within a commercial design firm
  • Proficient with Revit
  • Strong verbal and written communication, organization, and collaboration skills
  • Passion for design excellence and continuous learning

Nice To Haves

  • Knowledge of building codes, zoning, jurisdictional processes, building materials, specifications, and construction techniques is preferred
  • Experience in construction document preparation, construction administration, and field observation is preferred
  • Proficiency with SketchUp, other 3D modeling software, and the Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop) is preferred
  • LEED accreditation or WELL AP is preferred
  • Demonstrated commitment to resilience and sustainable building practices
