About The Position

Gensler is seeking a Mid-Level Technical Designer with 5-10 years of experience to join their Bay Area Lifestyle Studio, which focuses on hospitality and retail projects. The role involves collaborating on projects from conceptual design through construction administration, with a focus on furniture and finishes. The ideal candidate will possess strong critical thinking, technical skills, and a collaborative approach to ensure design integrity, precision, and efficiency. Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in interior design, architecture or foreign equivalent
• 5 - 10 years of related project experience
• Proficiency in Revit is required
• Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign) and/or SketchUp is a plus
• Knowledge of relevant building codes and accessibility requirements

Nice To Haves

• Retail, Hospitality, and other experience-driven lifestyle environments
• Proficiency in modeling using 2D/3D software, such as CAD, 3d Viz, 3ds MAX, and/or Rhino utilizing V-Ray is a plus
• State licensure and LEED accreditation a plus
• Knowledge of Building Information Modeling (BIM) and parametric design software, including Grasshopper, a plus

Responsibilities

• Participate in all project phases, including conceptual designs, presentations, schematic design, design development, construction documents and production
• Collaborate with design team, clients, consultants, contractors, fabricators, regulatory agencies and other vendors to meet overall project objectives
• Produce graphic presentations, 3D renderings, and construction drawings
