Technical Designer – Junior
About The Position
As a Technical Designer at Gensler, you will collaborate with a team of architects and designers to develop design solutions as well as coordinate the design through the construction administration phase of a project. Your job is to combine creativity and technical knowledge with a focus on project delivery and an understanding how to produce functionally beautiful designs. You will drive delivery of a project, collaborate with office and regional technical leaders, and develop delivery and process improvement strategy. Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Architecture or Interiors from an accredited school
- 0-3 years of experience
- Knowledge of Revit, Adobe Suite, and Rhino required
- Outstanding conceptual 3-dimensional thinking and graphic presentation skills to effectively communicate design ideas
- Flexibility to focus on concurrent projects in various stages of development
- Ability to communicate design ideas and direction quickly
- A quick learner with an ability to thrive in a fast-paced work environment
- Strong leadership, organization, communication, and relationship management skills
Nice To Haves
- Knowledge of InDesign, SketchUp, Grasshopper, Parametric Modeling, a plus
- LEED accreditation a plus
Responsibilities
- Work with the Design Director(s) and project team(s) on conceptual designs, presentations, design development, and production
- Resolve complex design issues with innovative and practical solutions
- Produce graphic presentations, 3D renderings, and assist in construction drawings
- Assist in managing client expectations, team communication and consultant coordination
- Participate in office culture and initiatives
