Technical Denials Analyst

Med-Metrix•Parsippany-Troy Hills, NJ

About The Position

The Technical Denials Analyst is the subject matter expert responsible for identifying and addressing the drivers of non-clinical denials across multiple payers. The role uses independent judgment to evaluate recurring trends by payer, department, facility, and denial type; determine root causes; and partner with billing, patient access, credentialing, EDI, and other revenue cycle teams to implement operational improvements that reduce recurrence. The analyst monitors denial, rejection, and processing trends, prioritizes issues with the greatest operational or financial impact, and maintains reporting on denial rates, trends, resolution timeliness, and recovery outcomes. The role documents recommendations and operational actions, follows up on outcomes, and advises revenue cycle and client leadership on denial risks, payer changes, and priorities. Occasional travel to client facilities and work outside normal business hours for special projects may be required. The employee must comply with HIPAA and information security requirements, using and disclosing protected health information only as permitted and limiting access to the minimum necessary. The work environment is usually minimally noisy. The role involves occasional movement around the work area, sitting, manual tasks, and operating office equipment. It also requires independent judgment, collaboration, and the ability to handle stress.
