Technical Delivery Manager

Optura•Nashville, TN

About The Position

Optura is healthcare’s AI orchestration platform. We help healthcare organizations transform disconnected AI pilots into a unified, enterprise-scale program that delivers measurable value. Our platform enables teams to design, execute, and monitor intelligent agents that drive automation, insights, and action, while providing the control and observability needed to scale safely. Built for real-world complexity, Optura supports multiple model providers, integrates seamlessly with existing infrastructure, and offers both SaaS and self-hosted options. Our mission: revolutionize how healthcare deploys and operationalizes AI in production. Optura’s Forward Deployed Engineering team works inside customer environments to stand up our platform, wire it into real clinical and operational workflows, and get healthcare organizations to measurable value fast. We’re looking for a Technical Delivery Manager to own delivery across those deployments — the client’s continuity point of contact from the day scope is signed through go-live and into steady state, and the internal quarterback who keeps Forward Deployed Engineers, Platform & Infrastructure, Strategy, and Sales moving in sync. You’ll build the schedule, pressure-test it, keep it anchored to ground truth through daily lockstep with Forward Deployed Engineers, and serve as the customer’s single point of accountability for the go-live date — without owning the hands-on technical build, the commercial terms, or the underlying value model. Healthcare deployments are messy by nature: competing information technology priorities, long security review queues, integration partners with their own timelines, and executive sponsors who want a straight answer. You’ll be the person they trust to give it — composed, credible, and honest when it counts. Reporting to VP/Senior Director/Head of/whoever Forward Deployed Engineering, this is a role for someone who owns outcomes, not tasks: the date is yours whether or not the inputs show up on time.

Requirements

  • 6+ years of technical program management, delivery management, or enterprise software implementation experience
  • 3+ years serving as the customer-facing owner of delivery timelines for enterprise software deployments involving system integrations, security reviews, and multiple external stakeholders
  • Experience running delivery cadence directly with engineering teams and holding technical credibility in design and readiness reviews
  • Comfortable driving formal sign-off processes — like UAT acceptance and value/ROI sign-off — without owning the underlying technical or financial models
  • Familiarity with delivery and collaboration tooling such as Smartsheet, Notion, and Slack, or equivalents
  • Willingness to travel to customer sites as needed to validate plans against ground truth

Nice To Haves

  • Experience standing up or operating a standardized project management practice — intake, governance, and reporting — across multiple concurrent engagements
  • Healthcare information technology delivery experience, including electronic health record integrations (Epic, Oracle Health), HL7/FHIR interfaces, or healthcare security and compliance processes (HIPAA, business associate agreements, security review cycles)
  • Experience deploying artificial intelligence, machine learning, or data-intensive platforms into enterprise customer environments
  • Experience at a company with a forward deployed or embedded engineering model
  • Experience as an early program management hire who built delivery playbooks and processes from scratch
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field

Responsibilities

  • Get read into new engagements before signature — reviewing deal history and scope with Sales — and translate signed scope into an initial delivery plan and kickoff deck
  • Own technical discovery working with Forward Deployed Engineers — capturing the client's current-state environment (systems, data formats, existing integrations, security/compliance constraints) ahead of the Configuration Sprint
  • Work with Forward Deployed Engineers to maintain a living technical onboarding brief for each account — architecture pattern, integration points, and known constraints — so new engineers joining an account get up to speed quickly
  • Build and own end-to-end deployment schedules across a portfolio of concurrent customer programs, from kickoff through integration, validation, go-live, and the first value measurement cycle
  • Own the readiness gate that determines when a deployment is cleared to move from configuration into build — surfacing technical tradeoffs, closing outstanding checklist items, escalating blockers, and replanning when infrastructure or integration work slips
  • Run daily cadence with Forward Deployed Engineers to reconcile plan against reality, and translate ground truth into sharp, honest reporting for customer and Optura leadership
  • Drive accountability across customer information technology teams, integration partners, and internal engineering without creating friction with the people who have to deliver
  • Participate in architecture and design review sessions — ask informed questions, flag downstream risk or dependency, and translate the outcome for executive sponsors and non-technical stakeholders
  • Facilitate technical trade-off decisions between Forward Deployed Engineers, product engineering, and customer teams, and document the rationale so decisions stick
  • Sequence and prioritize use cases entering build, and manage dependencies when multiple workstreams are in flight simultaneously
  • Navigate the client’s internal approval pipeline alongside Forward Deployed Engineers — architecture and security reviews, governance boards, data-privacy review, and change-advisory processes — so approvals keep pace with the delivery schedule
  • Coordinate user acceptance testing and drive formal client sign-off ahead of go-live, and own go-live and cutover logistics, handing off cleanly to the client’s sustaining support team
  • Lead executive communication with customer sponsors, translating deployment complexity into clear, decision-ready narratives
  • Sustain relationship health and operating cadence through steady state, and help surface and sequence expansion opportunities
  • Monitor SLA adherence once live, and escalate misses or support issues that put the relationship at risk
  • After go-live, coordinate adoption activities and track realized value and account health against the baseline set earlier in the engagement
  • Partner with the account team on quarterly business reviews and ongoing account planning
  • Create repeatable delivery mechanisms — runbooks, milestone templates, risk registers, readiness checklists — that make deployments predictable as we scale
  • Identify systemic bottlenecks across deployments and drive durable fixes in tooling, process, and partner interfaces

Benefits

  • Health, dental, and vision insurance
  • Generous paid time off
  • Opportunities for professional growth and development
