About The Position
Join Esri’s Professional Services organization and partner directly with Defense and Intelligence customers to design, implement, secure, and optimize enterprise database environments supporting geospatial applications. Combine database engineering expertise with customer consulting skills to understand technical requirements, design scalable solutions, improve database performance and resilience, and guide customers through data migration and integration initiatives. Relocation assistance is available for relocating to the Redlands, California area.
Requirements
- At least 5 years of hands-on experience in database design, administration, and optimization for Oracle, SQL Server, PostgreSQL, or SAP HANA.
- Familiarity with database design principles, data loading techniques, backup and recovery solutions, performance monitoring and tuning, database maintenance, and security.
- SQL and Python scripting skills for automation and data workflows.
- Exposure to geospatial concepts such as spatial data types, coordinate systems, and spatial indexing.
- Ability to clearly communicate complex technical concepts to technical peers and non-technical project managers or customers.
- U.S. citizenship.
- Active or current (within 2 years of active) Top Secret security clearance with SCI eligibility.
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, mathematics, GIS, or a related STEM field.
Nice To Haves
- Experience with ArcGIS Enterprise geodatabases.
- Knowledge of integrating GIS with other enterprise systems.
- CompTIA Security+ certification.
- One or more industry-standard IT certifications, such as Esri, Microsoft, Amazon, PostgreSQL, or Oracle certifications.
- Master’s degree in computer science, mathematics, GIS, or a related STEM field.
