About The Position

The Technical Consultant will serve as a client-facing resource responsible for executing project tasks, testing, validation, and ensuring the timely completion of project milestones for a successful go-live. This role requires a blend of technical expertise and knowledge of HR, Benefits, and Payroll to implement clients on a new HCM platform or optimize existing ones using best practices. The scope of work includes platform implementations, environment optimizations, designing and executing technical solutions for client issues, and providing support to enhance client satisfaction with HCM Unlocked services. A deep understanding of UKG Ready is essential, with a strong advantage for experience in troubleshooting inbound/outbound integration files, data transformation, and data mapping.

Requirements

  • 2+ years of experience in a high-volume, client-facing implementation role with a vendor or consulting organization.
  • Expert knowledge of multiple modules within the UKG Ready platform, including system implementation, custom reporting functionality, and payroll processing.
  • At least 2 years of experience in a client-facing implementation role.
  • Prior experience owning and leading a project.
  • Experience in Time & Attendance system configuration, understanding of labor allocation requirements, and integration with various time capture systems to payrolls.
  • High School Diploma required.
  • Experience with integrations between third-party systems (API, EDI, or batch processing of flat files).
  • Ability to utilize QA processes that capture before and after outcomes and satisfy governance and audit requirements.
  • Ability to create specific test scripts based upon individual client needs for 100% validation of client data and technical configurations.
  • Understanding of PII data and governance requirements, and ability to maintain confidentiality.
  • Ability to partner with the Benefits team to complete plan build, testing, and launch of open enrollment and ongoing eligibility maintenance.
  • Understand and execute the process for building, testing, and deploying EDI file feeds between client insurance carriers and HRIS systems.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, including active listening and effective verbalization of ideas.
  • Ability to prioritize and work on multiple projects while meeting deadlines in an organized manner; demonstrated organizational and time management skills.
  • Strong communication, interpersonal, and client relationship skills, with the ability to remain calm in stressful situations.
  • Familiarity with, or ability to rapidly learn, teach, and instruct on various HRIS software platforms.
  • Proficiency in MS Office suite of products (MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint) is essential.
  • Excellent analytical problem-solving skills and strong attention to detail.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor's degree preferred, preferably in a computer-related field.
  • Experience and knowledge related to troubleshooting inbound/outbound integration files, data transformation and data mapping is extremely beneficial.
  • Cultivate and grow understanding of the impact of HR-related situations such as new hires, life events, terminations and open enrollments to assist Benefits with ensuring adherence to all regulatory, carrier and client guidelines.
  • Understand and execute the process for building, testing and deploying EDI file feeds between the client’s insurance carriers and HRIS system, to include: plan rule setup, extracting employee data, troubleshooting eligibility during the testing phase and regular upkeep of files once the feeds are active (troubleshooting discrepancies).

Responsibilities

  • Serve as a client-side resource for technical configurations, integrations, testing, and validation tasks during implementation projects.
  • Manage daily project tasks to ensure a client's successful payroll transition.
  • Configure workflows to optimize system buildout.
  • Create custom reports and showcase templated reports to maximize value during client implementations or optimizations.
  • Deliver custom system training to clients to ensure high technology adoption rates.
  • Analyze current client processes and identify software opportunities for maximum client value and functionality.
  • Partner with clients to identify and prioritize their needs.
  • Coordinate with the platform vendor to obtain answers and design solutions for optimization tasks.
  • Collaborate with leaders, project managers, and other consultants for successful client partnerships.
  • Participate in pre-sales scoping analysis to determine project needs and estimate hours.
  • Engage in cross-training opportunities to expand skills across various platforms and domain areas (e.g., Payroll, Benefits, HR, Custom Reporting, Integrations, Data).
  • Assist project managers and team members in creating detailed input for project plan sections related to technical configurations and/or integrations.
  • Contribute to the creation and execution of test scripts and audits for all technical configurations and/or integrations during all project phases (SIT, UAT, Parallel, Go-live).
  • Act as a liaison between the client, platform vendor, and HCM Unlocked data resources to ensure accurate capture of client data requirements during design and confirmation during testing.
  • Serve as a liaison between platform vendors and HCM Unlocked technical resources, providing oversight and input during the design and testing of inbound/outbound integrations.
  • Review existing client technical architectures and landscapes, recommending optimizations to prevent errors in data flow.
  • Provide formal sign-off of technical configuration work to the Project Manager at each critical validation stage gate.
  • Collaborate with the Project Manager to maintain the Open Issues log and resolve technical configuration/integration issues promptly.
  • Provide the Project Manager with proof of testing and validation for technical configuration and/or integration work.
  • Utilize Microsoft Excel and data validation tools to research issues and confirm data accuracy in customer databases.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
