About The Position

Goldbug Manufacturing, a division within Corvid Technologies, is seeking a detail-oriented Technical Buyer to manage procurement activities and connect Engineering, Supply Chain, and Legal/Contracts teams. The role supports streamlined purchasing workflows, management of complex customer requirements, and engineering teams within a new system environment. The buyer manages daily purchasing operations, sources rapid-prototype vendors, and oversees Outside Service Processing workflows while ensuring customer-specific commercial requirements are met. Success involves helping internal customers acquire materials and services efficiently and compliantly while meeting customer requirements.

The role requires a strong technical background, including the ability to read engineering drawings, interpret multi-component Bills of Materials, and understand manufacturing processes. The Technical Buyer must remain organized and attentive to detail in a fast-paced manufacturing environment with competing priorities. The position is onsite in the Mooresville, North Carolina area, and candidates must be U.S. citizens.

Requirements

• Must be a U.S. citizen and willing to work onsite in the Mooresville, NC area.
• At least 3 years of experience in supply chain, procurement, or purchasing within a manufacturing or hardware prototyping environment.
• Experience reviewing and managing commercial Terms and Conditions, with an understanding of flow-down requirements from diverse customer portfolios.
• Ability to read and understand mechanical or engineering drawings, geometric tolerances, and multi-level Bills of Materials.
• Hands-on experience operating within an ERP system.
• Experience managing complex line items, precise charge codes, and strict delivery timelines while minimizing errors.

• Prior experience with Deltek Costpoint.

Responsibilities

• Review internal purchasing requests from engineering teams and analyze quotes, technical specifications, and digital shopping carts for accuracy before issuing Purchase Orders.
• Review and manage Terms and Conditions, ensuring customer-specific quality, regulatory, and commercial compliance requirements flow down accurately into supplier Purchase Orders.
• Process orders against Job Numbers, Manufacturing Order Numbers, and Charge Codes in Deltek Costpoint.
• Read and interpret engineering drawings and multi-level Bills of Materials to account for all components and quantities, particularly for parts sent for Outside Service Processing.
• Manage the Approved Vendor List, negotiate purchasing terms, and minimize lead-time delays for engineering teams.
• Source, evaluate, and onboard vendors for unique, one-off prototyping requirements.
• Communicate with engineers, shop floor personnel, and logistics teams to track physical and electronic deliveries across national campuses and ensure parts are routed accurately for subsequent manufacturing steps.
