About The Position

The Technical Business Analyst will partner with Finance, Accounting, Trade Processing, Data, and Technology teams to define requirements, analyze business workflows, and deliver data-driven reporting and analytics solutions. This role is ideal for a business analyst who enjoys working at the intersection of financial services operations, data analysis, and technology delivery. The position offers the opportunity to translate complex business needs into clear functional and technical specifications, improve reporting and operational visibility, and support high-impact analytics initiatives using tools such as SQL, Excel, Tableau, Power BI, JIRA, Confluence, and AI-enabled analysis tools.

Requirements

  • 5–9 years of experience as a Business Analyst, Technical Business Analyst, Data Analyst, or similar role.
  • Strong understanding of Finance, Accounting, and/or Trade Processing workflows, systems, and data.
  • Hands-on experience with data analysis using SQL, Excel, and AI-enabled productivity or analytics tools.
  • Experience building dashboards, reports, or visualizations using Tableau and/or Power BI.
  • Strong documentation skills, including business requirements, functional specifications, user stories, process flows, and acceptance criteria.
  • Experience using JIRA and Confluence in Agile or technology delivery environments.
  • Ability to communicate clearly with both business and technical stakeholders.
  • Strong analytical mindset with the ability to translate complex business problems into structured requirements and actionable insights.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience working in financial services, investment operations, banking, capital markets, asset management, insurance, or related environments preferred.
  • Financial services industry experience.
  • Exposure to trade processing, investment operations, finance operations, accounting workflows, or reporting platforms.
  • Experience supporting data, reporting, analytics, or business intelligence initiatives.
  • Ability to work with cross-functional teams across business, operations, data, and technology.

Responsibilities

  • Elicit, analyze, and document business requirements across Finance, Accounting, and Trade Processing teams.
  • Translate business needs into clear functional and technical specifications for data, reporting, dashboard, and analytics solutions.
  • Partner with business stakeholders and technology teams to clarify workflows, data sources, reporting needs, and process improvement opportunities.
  • Perform data analysis using SQL, Excel, and AI-enabled tools to identify trends, gaps, exceptions, and business insights.
  • Design, build, and support dashboards and visualizations using Tableau and Power BI for executive, operational, and cross-functional stakeholders.
  • Create and maintain high-quality documentation, including business requirements, functional specifications, process flows, user stories, acceptance criteria, and reporting definitions.
  • Use JIRA and Confluence to manage requirements, track delivery progress, and support project transparency.
  • Support testing, validation, and user acceptance activities to ensure delivered solutions meet business needs.
  • Identify opportunities to streamline reporting, improve data quality, and enhance business decision-making.
