About The Position

We are seeking a Jira Admin/Engineer to join our team at Fiserv. In this role, you will be responsible for configuring, scaling, maintaining, and optimizing Atlassian Jira, Confluence, and the broader Atlassian ecosystem to support enterprise project management, agile delivery, workflow automation, and collaboration across multiple business and technology teams.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in Technical Support, Software Services, Systems Administration, or a related technical role supporting large end-user communities.
  • 2–3 years of hands-on experience administering Jira and Confluence Data Center environments, preferably hosted on AWS.
  • Strong understanding of Jira workflows, permissions, schemes, automation, reporting, and system administration best practices.
  • Current Fiserv systems experience.
  • Proven experience migrating Jira and/or Confluence environments from legacy instances and supporting platform upgrades.
  • Experience diagnosing and resolving complex technical issues in enterprise environments.
  • Demonstrated ability to de-escalate challenging situations and communicate effectively with stakeholders, including executive leadership.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously while maintaining high levels of service and responsiveness.
  • Experience mentoring support engineers and helping develop technical troubleshooting skills.

Nice To Haves

  • Financial services industry experience.
  • Experience with Splunk, Dynatrace, Clarity, and related monitoring or project management platforms.
  • Experience with scripting, automation, API integrations, or Atlassian marketplace applications.

Responsibilities

  • Administer, configure, and support Jira and Confluence Data Center environments, including projects, workflows, permissions, screens, fields, dashboards, reports, and integrations.
  • Partner with business and technology stakeholders to gather requirements, design scalable solutions, and implement process improvements across the Atlassian platform.
  • Own, troubleshoot, and resolve complex technical issues using effective collaboration, troubleshooting best practices, and transparent communication with stakeholders.
  • Perform error diagnosis, debugging, validation, root cause analysis, and code reviews when required to identify and resolve platform-related issues.
  • Replicate issues and validate product-related defects while coordinating with internal and external support teams as needed.
  • Monitor platform performance, capacity, and system health to ensure reliability, availability, and an optimal user experience.
  • Support Jira and Confluence upgrades, migrations, integrations, and ongoing maintenance activities.
  • Develop and maintain automation solutions, self-service capabilities, knowledge articles, and operational documentation to improve efficiency and user experience.
  • Drive technical collaboration and engagement with internal teams, vendors, and strategic partners.
  • Mentor junior engineers and share technical knowledge to strengthen team capabilities and troubleshooting expertise.
  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives focused on operational excellence, platform governance, and service quality.
