Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • 1 year of experience preferred.
  • Previous healthcare experience preferred.
  • Current CNA, Phlebotomy, or CMA/CCMA/RMA certification with state required.
  • Basic computer knowledge with demonstrated administrative skills.
  • Basic knowledge of medical terminology.
  • Demonstrated critical thinking skills.
  • High level of compassion, desire to help others and highly motivated.
  • Constant standing, frequently walking, and bending/stooping.
  • Proficient communicative, auditory, and visual skills.
  • Attention to detail and ability to write legibly.
  • Ability to lift/push/pull 100 lbs. For any weight over 35 lbs., use Safe Handling Equipment.

  • Phlebotomy and medical terminology.

Responsibilities

  • Provides patient care services, cleans, maintains and stocks supplies and equipment and applies the principles of standard precautions and infection control in a variety of settings.
  • Receives assignments as delegated by the RN.
  • The Certified Technical Assistant will be able to access data reflective of the patient’s status and report the information needed to identify each patients needs relative to this information.
  • Provides care based on established policies and procedures.
  • The Technical Assistant performs clerical, phlebotomy, safety attendant and other duties as assigned within their scope.
  • Provides and documents assistance to patients under the direction and supervision of a licensed nurse.
  • Assists/provides patient care throughout the entire patient experience under the direct supervision of the physician and/or the registered nurse.
  • Assists in room turnaround, including appropriate cleaning of equipment, supplies, and environment.
  • Organizes supplies and equipment as needed.
  • Assists with patient care while complying with Department, Hospital, and Regulatory policies and procedures.
  • Understands concepts of sterile and non-sterile techniques.
  • Adheres to safety measures.
  • The incumbent may be asked to perform additional duties as assigned.
