About The Position

The Technical Associate I position in the Birnbaum Lab at the Koch Institute for Integrative Cancer Research will be involved in cutting-edge projects aimed at understanding and engineering immune responses against cancer and infectious disease. The lab utilizes a combination of protein engineering, molecular biology, bioinformatics, and molecular and cellular immunology to achieve its goals.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in biochemistry, biological engineering, chemical engineering, molecular biology, or a related discipline
  • A minimum of two years of lab experience (which may include experience gained as an undergraduate)
  • Excellent organizational and written and verbal communication skills

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with molecular biology and cell culture techniques
  • Independent research experience

Responsibilities

  • Mammalian and insect cell culture
  • Creation of new DNA constructs via PCR and related techniques
  • Lentivirus and protein preparation
  • Protein engineering
  • Tracking and ordering laboratory supplies
  • Performing general laboratory upkeep and support
