About The Position
Johnson, Mirmiran & Thompson (JMT) is a 100% employee-owned consulting firm with over 2,800 professionals providing engineering, architecture, information technology, and related services. JMT's Philadelphia Construction Management team is looking for a Technical Assistant to perform construction inspections for highway, bridge, and other infrastructure projects in Southeastern Pennsylvania. The role involves applying standard inspection procedures to ensure structural quality, general safety, and compliance with plans, specifications, and codes for clients like PennDOT and the PA Turnpike. Immigration sponsorship is not available, except for TN visa candidates.
Requirements
- Apply standard inspection procedures to construction activities
- Ensure structural quality, general safety and conformance to plans, specifications and codes
Responsibilities
- Assist client and inspection team with onsite inspection and documentation of construction activities
- Review and interpret plans, site layouts, specifications and construction methods to ensure compliance to legal requirements and safety regulations.
- Measure dimensions and verify level, alignment, and elevation of structures, fixtures, grades and/or pavement to ensure compliance to plans and codes.
- Makes field notes and computations
- Gathers and maintains record documents (using PennDOT ECMS and other systems)
- Witness routine sampling and tests on concrete, soils and other materials
- Perform other related duties as assigned
