About The Position

The Technical Assistant operates under the supervision of the LPAC Supervisor and Senior Technical Assistants to perform behind-the-scenes labor for performances and events. This is a part-time position, working up to 940 hours per fiscal year, with an average of 20 hours per week, though hours are not guaranteed. The role involves assisting with various production areas for both indoor and outdoor events with minimal supervision from Senior Technical Assistants.

Requirements

• Ability to organize.
• Understand and follow written and oral instructions.
• Deal tactfully and effectively with staff, participants and the public.
• Any equivalent combination of education and experience that provides the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary for acceptable job performance.

Nice To Haves

• Currently enrolled in a college, university, or trade school majoring in Theatre Arts, Film, Television, or a related field, is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Assisting with lighting hangs and restores.
• Follow Spot operating.
• Stage audio setups.
• Scenic assembly/take downs using hand and power tools.
• Wardrobe handling.
• Video world and camera setups.
• Counterweight fly system loading.
• Working dance, theatre and music performances.
• Loading/unloading equipment, cases, gondolas, hampers from trucks.
• Working outdoor events in various technical production areas.
• May oversee Stage Assistant.
