About The Position

Performs bench-level experiments and small independent research projects to support scientific research objectives of a laboratory or group. Analyzes experimental data, addresses methodological problems in experimental protocols and results, and reports data to a supervisor. In consultation with the Principal Investigator or other project manager, conducts experiments and research projects, operates and maintains laboratory equipment, and prepares, orders, and maintains necessary reagents, solutions, and supplies. May work with vendors to resolve equipment, reagent, or supply issues; assist a Technical Associate or project manager in determining the order of research processes; and consult scientific literature as needed. Other tasks may be required or assigned.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in biology or a field directly related to the work.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.
• Strong organizational skills.
• Team player.

Nice To Haves

• Proficiency in basic laboratory techniques and principles of molecular biology.
• Knowledge of scientific databases and publications.

Responsibilities

• Conduct bench-level experiments and small independent research projects in consultation with the Principal Investigator or another project manager.
• Operate and maintain laboratory equipment to complete investigations.
• Prepare, order, and maintain stocks of necessary reagents, solutions, and supplies.
• Work with vendors to address equipment, reagent, or supply issues, as needed.
• Document, compile, and assist in interpreting experimental data.
• Report data to the supervisor through oral and written reports.
• Assist a Technical Associate or project manager in determining the order of research processes that best support project goals, as needed.
• Consult scientific literature as needed.
• Complete other tasks as required or assigned.
