About The Position

Join TAFE NSW Richmond Campus as a Technical Assistant - Horticulture and help support the delivery of practical, hands-on training. Working closely with teachers, you'll prepare classes, organise resources and materials, maintain horticultural equipment and machinery, and ensure learning environments are safe, well-stocked and ready for student activities. This is a varied, hands-on role that combines horticultural expertise, equipment maintenance, customer service, and operational support to help students succeed. As part of this role, you will be required to attend the campus over the Christmas shut down period to maintain onsite irrigation systems and hand watering. Occasional travel may also be required to provide support for classes at TAFE NSW campuses beyond Richmond.

Requirements

  • A valid Working with Children Check (required prior to commencement).
  • Industry experience or equivalent and demonstrated knowledge and understanding of the horticulture area.
  • Experience in operation and maintenance of machinery and equipment used in horticulture.
  • Current driver’s licence
  • Forklift licence
  • Australian citizen, a permanent resident of Australia, or a New Zealand citizen with a current New Zealand passport.
