About The Position

Universal Logistics is seeking a detail-oriented and highly collaborative Technical Analyst to support the delivery of enterprise software solutions across their warehouse execution systems (WES) and sequencing. As part of the development organization, the Technical Analyst will serve as a key liaison between business users, developers, QA, and product leadership, helping transform business requirements into actionable, testable, and deployable technical solutions. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced, logistics-driven environment and can bridge the gap between operations and engineering with clarity, precision, and follow-through.

Requirements

  • 3–5 years of experience in a technical analyst, systems analyst, or application support role.
  • Experience with Jira (epics, stories, sub-tasks) and Confluence for documentation.
  • Strong understanding of relational databases, data mapping, and software integration concepts.
  • Familiarity with QA and SDLC processes in Agile, Kanban, or hybrid environments.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to synthesize complex technical details for non-technical stakeholders.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with business users, product owners, and developers to gather, refine, and translate functional requirements into detailed technical specifications.
  • Create and maintain Jira tickets with clearly written user stories, acceptance criteria, and dependencies for developers and QA.
  • Document business workflows, technical logic, and exception handling scenarios in Confluence using standardized templates.
  • Assist in solution design by providing data mappings, process flow diagrams, and edge-case considerations.
  • Work with developers to ensure that requirements are well understood and technically feasible.
  • Validate that development outputs align with specifications before handing off for QA.
  • Collaborate with QA team to write test scenarios and assist in validating that the delivered functionality meets requirements.
  • Participate in smoke testing, UAT support, and triaging issues during the test and release cycles.
  • Ensure that new features include traceable documentation and clearly defined release notes.
  • Build and maintain a structured knowledge base in Confluence to support onboarding, reuse, and cross-training.
  • Ensure all newly developed features or systems have corresponding technical documentation published and reviewed.
  • Update and maintain system integration maps and architecture diagrams in collaboration with developers and architects.
