Requirements

  • Minimum 3 years of Application Systems Analysis, Implementation, Support & Development experience.
  • Minimum 3 years of Desktop computing experience.
  • Good communication and presentation skills.
  • Able to work in a team environment and collaborate to achieve success.
  • Self-motivated, organized, flexible and resourceful person.
  • Experience in completing tasks for workplace modernization, capitalizing on newer technological offerings.

Nice To Haves

  • Related post-secondary degree or diploma (Information Technology or Computer Science degree) is an asset or more than one year of Infrastructure experience.
  • Amazon (Cloud Practitioner, Solutions Architect), Agile (lean, SCRUM, KANBAN) certification would be considered an asset.
  • Helpdesk experience will be an asset.
  • Knowledge any of object-oriented programming languages will be an asset.
  • Experience with the following area of system specialties will be an asset: ServiceNow, OpsGenie, Guidewire

Responsibilities

  • Report to the Team Lead, Insurance IT Operations.
  • Actively participate in team standup meetings.
  • Work within agreed timelines that have been established for tasks and deliverables.
  • Demonstrate technical mastery and thought leadership within your domain.
  • Champion change within the team to support our culture of continual improvement.
  • Inspire proactive systems management and operational excellence throughout AMA’s technical stack.
  • Oversee the installation, maintenance, and support of data center hardware and software.
  • Monitor system performance, analyze system issues, and lead troubleshooting efforts to resolve problems.
  • Support the documentation of your team’s environment considering all stages of operation, operating procedures, and disaster recovery.
  • Design, build, test, and maintain enterprise technology automation and integration scripts that address complex process flows.
  • Ensure that all system and application changes are developed, tested, and implemented in a well-controlled environment.
  • Support the creation and maintenance of standards for design, technical architecture, capacity planning, and security processes.
  • Actively participate in collaboration with other IT teams to understand and meet technical/functional system requirements.
  • Evaluate, design, and implement new products, tools and technology that could address both known and unknown organizational need.
