About The Position

As Technical Accounting Manager, you are not just an executor; you are the strategic architect of our GAAP policy, technical accounting frameworks, and audit readiness. We are seeking industry-best talent who goes beyond researching accounting standards to actively shape the future of our financial function. This role serves as a key platform for impact. You will own technical accounting judgments, elevate our financial reporting and investor reporting processes, lead special projects, and design scalable workflows to support iSpot’s rapid expansion.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance; active CPA license is required
  • 4-6+ years of progressive experience in technical accounting, financial reporting, and audit management, with a background in Big 4 public accounting or Accounting Advisory Services strongly preferred
  • Deep hands-on experience researching complex GAAP standards, drafting audit-ready technical memos, and managing technical close areas (e.g., ASC 606 revenue, ASC 842 leases, ASC 340 commissions, ASC 350 capitalized software, and ASC 718 equity)
  • Proven track record of building and scaling technical accounting frameworks, setting up new policies, and navigating complex transactions in a fast-paced, high-growth tech environment
  • Exceptional analytical rigor with a proactive approach to evaluating non-routine business scenarios, contract reviews, and operational improvements
  • A drive to leverage modern financial systems (e.g., NetSuite, Carta, Tableau) and AI-driven tools to automate reporting workflows and provide real-time business visibility
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills to effectively translate complex accounting concepts into clear insights for executive leadership, auditors, and investors

Nice To Haves

  • 2+ years in Big 4 or top-tier public accounting, ideally within Accounting Advisory Services (AAS, CMAAS, or FAAS)
  • Direct accounting experience within high-growth SaaS, AdTech, or media measurement companies, with familiarity around recurring revenue models and digital tech operations
  • Hands-on experience with NetSuite, Carta, Workiva, etc
  • Prior exposure to M&A accounting, debt/equity financing events, public readiness initiatives, or drafting board/investor presentation materials

Responsibilities

  • Author technical accounting memos, research complex GAAP standards, and establish robust accounting policies for critical business transactions.
  • Serve as the primary accounting subject matter expert, partnering with FP&A, Legal, and leadership to evaluate one-off business scenarios and structural accounting impacts.
  • Provide targeted hands-on support during month-end close for key technical areas, including revenue (ASC 606), capitalized software (ASC 350/985), leases (ASC 842), commissions (ASC 340), and equity administration (ASC 718).
  • Own the end-to-end management of monthly, quarterly, and year-end financial statements, including drafting investor reporting packages and executive board materials.
  • Help lead the annual external audit process, managing PBC deliverables, coordinating auditor testing, and resolving technical accounting queries.
  • Partner on strategic accounting initiatives, support financial systems implementations, and design scalable, audit-ready workflows to support rapid business growth.
