POSITION SUMMARY: Responsible for technical accounting duties including research, documentation and contract review. The position will also perform revenue related accounting functions such added value and commission accruals. This position reports to the Sr. Director, Financial Reporting.

Requirements

  • Working knowledge of GAAP and current technical accounting standards required.
  • CPA required.
  • 5+ years of technical accounting experience with at least 3 years prior public accounting experience required.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office products.
  • Ability to handle and prioritize multiple projects.
  • Detail oriented and self-motivating.
  • Ability to work effectively and independently in a fast paced environment.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.

  • Working knowledge of GAAP, specifically ASC 606, and current technical accounting standards required.
  • 5+ years prior financial reporting or public accounting experience.
  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting required.
  • CPA required.

Responsibilities

  • Review and analyze contracts for proper revenue recognition treatment under ASC 606, with considerations under ASC 842
  • Appropriately identify unique contract terms and independently research appropriate accounting treatment
  • Work closely with Sales, Legal, and Operations teams to understand contract terms and ensure compliance with revenue recognition policies.
  • Maintain and operate internal controls related to revenue, supporting both internal and external audits.
  • Prepare annual accounting memos over ASC 606 related topics
  • Prepare certain monthly, quarterly, and annual revenue-related journal entries and account reconciliations.
  • Prepare monthly commission and sales related calculations for accrual and payment
  • Serve as a subject matter expert on ASC 606 and other relevant GAAP guidance
  • Prepare ad hoc technical accounting memos, including adoptions of new accounting standards and pronouncements, acquisitions, and lease modifications, etc.
  • Act as a contact for auditors including assisting with requests during quarterly reviews and annual audits.
  • Additional duties and projects as assigned by executive management.
