The Technical Accounting group is a key part of this, responsible for establishing the accounting for complex or unusual transactions, including business combinations, partnership structures, revenue recognition, stock-based compensation, hedging, and other financial instruments. This group also develops, implements, and maintains global accounting policies. They collaborate extensively with various internal groups such as treasury, tax, corporate development, real estate, legal, and FP&A, as well as with the Company’s audit firm and third-party providers for due diligence, valuation, and other services. Please note, this is a 1-year job agreement, with employment scheduled to end in April 2027.

Requirements

  • Extensive technical accounting background, preferably with significant experience in derivatives and other financial instruments
  • Proven experience in researching and documenting complex accounting issues under U.S. GAAP and SEC regulations
  • Ability to interpret transaction documents for accounting and disclosure implications
  • Minimum of 6 years of experience, including experience at a Big 4 accounting firm serving major SEC clients
  • CPA certification or equivalent required
  • Strong analytical skills, business acumen, and the ability to communicate complex issues effectively

Responsibilities

  • Evaluate the accounting and reporting consequences of potential transactions and provide input and suggestions to planned and proposed arrangements
  • Liaise with a range of internal groups as well as with the Company’s auditors and other service providers to drive and communicate accounting conclusions
  • Research and document accounting positions for complex transactions, particularly in the areas of derivatives, financing transactions, and other financial instruments
  • Assist the SEC Reporting team with complete and accurate disclosures of complex transactions
  • Follow emerging accounting issues and proactively analyze their impact on the Company’s results and financial position
  • Assist with implementation of new accounting standards
  • Assist in the Company’s SOX (Sarbanes Oxley) compliance efforts as they relate to technical accounting and accounting policies
