About The Position

The Tech Wash Agent is responsible for performing detailed and comprehensive cleaning of designated aircraft areas to ensure the highest standards of appearance, safety, and compliance are met. This role involves the thorough washing, scrubbing, scraping, and detailing of both the exterior and interior components of aircraft, using approved tools, equipment, and cleaning solutions. The Tech Wash Agent plays a critical role in maintaining aircraft condition by removing contaminants, residue, and debris that may impact performance, safety, or presentation, while adhering to all company procedures, safety regulations, and environmental guidelines. Attention to detail, physical endurance, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced, safety-sensitive environment are essential for success in this position.

Requirements

  • 18 years of age or older
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the country of employment.
  • Communicate effectively in English (reading, writing, speaking)
  • Ability to access and interpret information in print and electronically, including the use of electronic devices including IPads/Tablets, Computers, and Mobile Devices
  • Effectively communicate with colleagues and clients, both in-person and through electronic means
  • Pass a background check and drug screen
  • Eligibility to acquire needed credentials and clearances (FAA, RAIC, TSA, Port Authority, U.S. Customs and U.S. Postal- as applicable).

Responsibilities

  • Pre-checks are performed on all equipment/vehicles and loading of required chemicals for designated washes during that shift
  • The ability to follow airline specific guidelines with tasks pertaining to the detailed cleaning process
  • Attach or remove proper pitot tube and static port covers and document on aircraft wash record or airline designated forms
  • Place the vacuum and water dams around the aircraft to collect all liquids that drip onto the ground and any drains that are covered to protect from contamination
  • Place soap in mop buckets, apply to aircraft, starting from the bottom, working upwards with mopheads/pads attached to poles
  • Wash exterior of aircraft to remove dirt, inspect spots, grease, stains, oil streaking, and exhaust/carbon trails
  • During and after the rinse, the contaminated water is squeezed to the vacuum system for removal, be sure to not leave any standing water/soap/chemical in the shadow of aircraft
  • A power washer will be used to rinse the soap and dirt from the aircraft while working from the ground or using a ladder
  • Polish metallic surfaces, clean/scrape seat tracks, and wipe down the interior structure of aircraft
  • Complete a FOD walk to verify that the work area is clean of equipment/chemicals and debris free
  • Inspect and evaluate the quality of work and practice safe work methods
  • Required to wear personal protective equipment (PPE): raingear, rubber boots, safety glasses, face shield, rubber gloves, Tyvek suit, and respirator
  • Exemplify PrimeFlight customer service and safety standards
  • Perform any additional duties as assigned by management
