Requirements
- Working experience in DevOps, Public Clouds, and Automation is a must.
- Must have worked as a team player or independent contributor in an enterprise-scale environment.
- Must have very good knowledge of AWS and Azure platform (One of these is mandatory).
- Good at automation skills using Shell scripting, PowerShell, Ruby, HCL, Python, Packer, JSON, YAML, ARM Templates, DSC, AWS-CLI, AZ-CLI, etc.
- Extensive working experience desired on Linux & its flavours platforms (CentOS or RHEL is a must).
- In-depth knowledge on all types of Package Management for Linux OS (Yum/dnf/apt/dpkg, etc.).
- Well versed in working with cloud core services, like - VM, images compute, Storage, network, Resource group, Tagging, IAM, Serverless, Lambda Functions, Cloud Formation, etc.
- Working experience is a must with DevOps lifecycle management - Package/Build/Release/configuration management for cloud platforms (AWS/Azure preferred).
- Good English writing and speaking ability required to write SOPs, Readme files, change logs, carry out demos, update status to leads on ongoing and completed tasks/projects.
- Bachelors degree in Computer Engineering, Database Management, Information Systems, Information Technology, or Network Engineering.
Nice To Haves
- Exposure in sprint style model of projects execution.
- Hands-on with tools widely used in DevOps: GIT, Jenkins, Docker, Chef, Terraform, Ansible, AZ Repo, AZ-Pipeline/Release.
- Good with Middleware Technologies such as Jboss, Tomcat, Apache, and Weblogic.
- Familiar with working with APIs & basic knowledge of databases.
Responsibilities
- Understand requirements and work independently with minimum support.
- Grasp existing setup/tools, identify scope for improvement, create, plan, and execute improvements.
- Work on automation tasks using organization-approved development tools/applications.
- Create custom scripts (shell/bash/python/Perl etc.).
- Create Jenkins pipelines for build & release for both AWS and Azure platforms.
- Extensive use/writing of Chef cookbooks & moderate use of Ansible playbooks for configuration management.
- Use Terraform & Packer for provisioning VMs/AMI/VM images.
- Manage source code in GIT.
- Support Operation and Build teams by automating frequently performed operation tasks, builds, and patching.
- Re-structure/re-write scripts to set up Apache/Jboss/Weblogic/Tomcat for Docker/containerization environments.
- Work on one or more tasks assigned by lead/manager, carried out within a sprint.
